1.  John Jr and Yuēhàn came across a document called the Emancipation Proclamation when learning about the Civil War.  They wanted to better understand the importance of this document.  John Jr started looking up more information.
2..  John Jr discovered some facts about the Emancipation Proclamation and shared them with Yuēhàn. The Emancipation Proclamation was a document issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, that declared enslaved people in the Confederate states to be free.
3.  John Jr explained that the proclamation had several effects, including: 
 Strengthening the Union: The proclamation added moral force to the Union's cause and strengthened it politically and militarily. 
 Capturing the imagination: The proclamation captured the imagination of millions of Americans. 
 Authorizing the recruitment of African Americans: The proclamation authorized the recruitment of African Americans into the Union army. By the end of the Civil War, about 180,000 African Americans had served in the Union army and 18,000 in the navy. 
 Transforming the war: The proclamation transformed the character of the war. 
4.  Yuēhàn  told John Jr that   The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free."  and it  applied to the following states: South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, and North Carolina.

Long ago, in the village of Gokul, there lived a little boy named Krishna. He was no ordinary boy; he was full of mischief and had a heart as big as the world! Krishna loved playing with his friends, but there was something he loved even more—butter!

Krishna’s mother, Yashoda, made the tastiest butter in the village. She stored it in pots and hung them high up, thinking Krishna couldn’t reach. But Krishna was clever! One day, he gathered his friends and whispered a plan.

“Let’s make a tower!” Krishna said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

His friends stood one on top of the other, making a human ladder. Krishna, being the smallest, climbed all the way to the top. He stretched his hand, grabbed the butter pot, and ate it with a big grin on his face!

But just then, Yashoda walked in. “Krishna!” she exclaimed, “You’re stealing butter again!”

Krishna, with his cheeks puffed full of butter, looked at his mother with innocent eyes and said, “Mother, the butter was too high for me to reach. How could I have taken it?”

Yashoda smiled at her naughty little boy. She knew Krishna was special, and even when he was mischievous, his heart was pure. Instead of scolding him, she hugged him tight.

From that day on, the villagers called Krishna “Makhan Chor,” the butter thief, but they loved him even more because he brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.

And so, Krishna continued to fill the village with happiness, always reminding everyone that love and joy are what truly matter.

Uncle Seth puts Sophie to bed after opening Christmas gifts. He reads her a space book and tells her stories about aliens and other planets before bed. Sophie dreams of space after she is tucked in by Uncle Seth.

Cruella was fuming, she whispered again,
"Abracadabra," and dragons descended like rain.
But King Adoola, with courage and grace,
Used magical webs, to put them in place.

Now the dragons, once fierce, were loyal and true,
For the King’s kind heart, they would see it through.
In a last wicked move, Cruella's voice soared,
"Abracadabra," and trees turned to swords.

But the dragons, now friends, with flames so bright,
Burned the trees down, ending the fight.
King Adoola, with wisdom, captured her fast,
"Abracadabra," he chanted, her powers didn't last.

Banished far away, Cruella's tale did conclude,
In the sky kingdom, joy was renewed.
For good always triumphs, love lights the way,
And in their flying castle, the family would play.

in the vast, sun-scorched expanse of the Kalahari Desert, where the golden sands stretch endlessly beneath a brilliant blue sky, Miko the Meerkat and Lou the Lizard make their home. Miko, with his sharp eyes and alert posture, stands on a small mound of sand, his fur a blend of sandy brown and cream, perfectly camouflaged against the desert landscape. Beside him, Lou the Lizard scurries across the hot ground, her scales glinting in the sunlight, a mix of earthy greens and browns that help her blend in with the sparse vegetation. Now, with their wedding set for November, they could hardly wait to make official what they had known since that first sunset: they were meant to be together forever. And so it was. Years passed, and the love that began online, strengthened by so many memories, continued to grow. Now old and gray, sitting together on a garden bench, holding hands, they watched the sunset once again. Aspen spent the rest of the night  trick or treating filling up her basket with all sorts of candy

Primrose, a piglet, asked, "What treatment?"
"You're getting shorter," Patches explained.
Primrose's tail twitched. "How?"
"Your tail!" Patches blurted.
Primrose whimpered, loving her tail for its many uses. Beatrice, her mother, sighed from the corner. "Another generation without their wigglers," she grumbled.
"Wigglers?" Primrose asked.
Beatrice explained that pigs' tails were natural, meant to wiggle and curl. Primrose cried, "But what if I need it?"
Beatrice shared humans believed they were better off without them. Patches chimed in about the usefulness of his own tail but resigned, "It's just what happens to pigs."

At recess, Mello saw a group playing tag. He really wanted to join, but wasn’t sure if they’d let him. Gathering courage, he asked, “Can I play too?”

The kids exchanged glances. Tristan asked, “Where are you from?”

“I’m from another school,” Mello said. “But I love playing tag.”

The kids still seemed unsure. Skylar spoke up, “I’ve never had a friend like you before.”

Mello smiled. “That’s okay! I’ve never had friends like you either. We can learn from each other.”

There was a pause, then Tristan shrugged. “Sure! You’re it!” he said, tapping Mello’s shoulder.

Mello laughed and chased them. As they played, Mello realized it didn’t matter that he looked different—what mattered was having fun together. After the game, Skylar told Mello, “You’re fast! I’m glad you joined us.”
