1. John Jr and Nazut went to visit Granny. Granny had made some tasty cookies and fruit smoothies for John Jr and Nazut's visit. Granny also had a surprise for John Jr and Nazut. 2. Granny came back from her room with a space them box and a headset. Granny handed the box to John Jr. When he opened it, David Bowie's song Space Oddity' started playing. Nazut got the headphones. 3. Granny told John Jr that there is a trick to get the box to open. She explained that only a kind heart could open it. She explained that a kind heart shows empathy by understanding and caring about others, and inspired John Jrto do kind things like cheer up a sad friend or bring a toy to a crying sibling. She said a kind heart always have good intentions. 4. John Jr and Nazut' visit was over and John Jr took his musical box home. John Jr was a bit temperamental and he couldn't get his box to open. He started practicing patience and his temper tantrums disappeared and he fi rally had the kindness in his heart for box to open and play Space Oddity. 5. Then John Jr and Nazut were floating on space. They became friends with a young star. That star gives John Jr a tour of the universe. John Jr especially enjoyed seeing Planet X. 6. John Jr return back home and get ready to eat dinner.

Scorching summer days stretched before us. Suddenly, my brother Suraj burst in, panicked. Someone kept calling and hanging up! Turns out, he accidentally dialed the police, fearing my wrath more than the authorities. The phone blared again – it was Grandpa, worried about the police and firefighters outside our house! Apparently, our identically numbered neighbor had the "fire." Chaos ensued as Dad received a call about the false alarm. Terrified, we hid until the police arrived. A sheepish apology letter later, and all was (mostly) forgiven. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we laughed about the crazy day. It followed the 1845 American annexation of Texas, which Mexico still considered its territory because it refused to recognize the Treaties of Velasco, signed by President Antonio López de Santa Anna after he was captured by the Texian Army during the 1836 Texas Revolution. The Republic of Texas was de facto an independent country, but most of its Anglo-American citizens who had moved from the United States to Texas after 1822 wanted to be annexed by the United States. 3. John Jr started to explain to Yuēhàn the key battles of the Mexican American War. Battle of Monterrey The first major battle of the war, which took place in 1846.
