A Happy Home
Emma's Eavesdropping
Emma lived in a small, cozy house with her Mommy and Daddy. Every morning, the family shared smiles and kind words at breakfast. Mommy worked hard at the CDC as a virologist to help keep people safe. Daddy loved to tell funny stories to make everyone laugh. They all felt safe and loved in their happy home.

One quiet day, Emma stayed in her room to play quietly. She heard voices from the living room and became curious. Emma listened carefully and heard Mommy and Daddy talking about a containment issue at work. The words sounded strange and serious. Emma did not understand everything, but she knew something was not right.

After hearing the conversation, Emma felt a big prick of fear in her heart. The scary words made her think that something bad might happen. She wished that she had not listened in on the conversation at all. Emma found a quiet corner and tried to hide her worries. Her heart felt heavy even though her room was filled with soft toys and warm light.

Seeing that Emma was upset, Mommy and Daddy talked gently with her. They explained that sometimes adults must discuss important work matters and that Emma was safe at home. They apologized for not being careful with their words around her. Slowly, Emma began to understand and feel better. In the end, the family hugged each other and learned that sharing worries in a kind way makes hearts lighter.
